This makes me sick. The Star Wars universe and Middle-earth do not intersect.

Eloquence
All right, I’m still going to be infrequent here. I’m taking Calculus IV, Linear Algebra, and Engineering Physics II at Everett Community College. It’s a pretty big load.
In fact, you could say I have too many irons in the fire, which just exposes the problem in waxing eloquent. Wax melts.

*sigh*
I already miss you, Tim. Drive safely. I’ll see you in February.
Pointless
I was thinking about our weather over here. I came to a fascinating conclusion:
It’s pointless to save for a rainy day in western Washington.
Easter Eggs
There are some hidden features I just heard about in the extended edition of Lord of the Rings. The first is a rather crude MTV spoof of the Council of Elrond. The second is a four-minute preview of The Two Towers.
To get to the second feature, insert the second disc. Select “Main Menu,” then “Select a Scene.” Along the right side, the chapters will be grouped into various intervals. If you go to “48″ and then move down the chapter groupings, you will come to an icon of two towers. From this you can go to the trailer. This was actually added to FOTR later in its showing at theatres. It includes some content that was not in Two Towers: I’m guessing it will be included in Two Towers: Extended.
The first can be reached through a similar process on the first disc. I don’t plan on watching it again.
New essay at The Hat
I just published From Wonder to Wonder, my newest essay, at Chasing Hats. It is something of a history of my education, with notes about the state of my mind throughout.
Wow
Somebody just bought this serious drill kit at Amazon.com from Chasing Hats. We made $8.00.
Clearly, they must have clicked through from my review of Frankenstein.
I’m Back, Part 2
Hey, Wayne is blogging again. It appears that the Christmas spirit warmed both of our hearts, made us miss the friends we had online, and compelled us to add our voices to the mix. Or maybe we just lost our heads – probably the alcoholic eggnog.
Anyhoo, today we had a nice big party at my pastor’s house. We had kilbasa sausage sandwiches for lunch, with sauerkraut and barbecue sauce – a delicious combo. We sang Psalms and discussed great literature. It seems to me that every Sunday ought to be this way. After all, Sunday is the day we feast on Christ’s flesh and blood, and celebrate the new life we have in Him. Noting that the church is the body of Christ, it seems sensible that we should partake of his flesh and blood through fellowship with one another, breaking bread, and enjoying covenant life. We suffer various trials and difficulties throughout the week, bearing each others’ burdens, in the footsteps of our forebear Christ. We progress toward Sunday, maybe drooping our heads a little, perhaps feeling a little battered about; and yet we reach the conclusion every week, celebrating the Resurrection and resting from our struggles. What better way to rejoice in life than in drinking a good glass of beer with your friends and chomping on some sausage? With no fat removed.
At least, that’s how I want to celebrate my Sundays.
